Top 5 Milestone Villains

Let's talk about villains. They keep doing evil stuff. They keep the story moving. Villains are just as important as heroes, so we should list a few villains because lists are fun. So, here's a list of the top 5 villains in Milestone and no, DC Comics is not on the list:

5. Rubberband Man

I'll be honest, Rubberband Man is pure garbage in the comics. Walking around with a pompadour like that was the cool. But, he gets a spot on the list because of his role in the Static Shock cartoon series. He was by far the most popular villain not named Static. People forget he was a villain who turned good because he was in love with Sharon. There was none of that in the comics. He was just a second rate criminal. But he's ingrained in our childhood.

4. Virus

Virus is one of my favorites. He's a villain, but not really. See Virus has a mental deficiency that causes him to function on a child's level. On top of that, he was abandoned by his father and abused by his drug addicted mother. He joined up with The Force Syndicate, a gang made up of people who would be considered misfits everywhere else. They took care of him, and he finally had a home. After the Big Bang, he lived under a mall and stole to survive which caused him to clash with Static.

3. Edwin Alva

He's the reason for the season. Just about everything bad in Dakota can be traced back to him in some way. He's a multi-millionaire activist to the people but behind the scenes he's got his hands in everything dirty. He drove Hardware to become a hero. At one point he figured out who Hardware was and then he blackmailed him into becoming a criminal enforcer. He's dirty and he's heartless.

2. John Tower

We see villains turn good all the time. Even Dr. Doom has had his time as a good guy. John Tower is a great villain because he is the opposite. He was once Dakota's greatest hero, long before the Big Bang. He died as a hero, and when he came back he tried. But, without his family, he grew lonely by the day and willing to do anything to bring them back. He's a villain born of desperation not demeanor.

1. Holocaust

How can he not be #1? He has wrecked just about every Milestone hero and some DC heroes at one point or another. His name just screams villain. Who names themselves Holocaust? Sure, his mother abandoned him and later attempted to have him killed. But, a lot of the stuff he does is just evil for no damn reason. He likes doing bad stuff like smoking with cigarettes. I'd say he does it with his friends, but he doesn't have any because he either killed or tried to have them all killed.
