Sik-K - BOYCOLD Album Review

Sik-K has released his third Mini Album and his second album this year "BOYCOLD". The entire album was protruded by fellow Yelows Mob member BoyCold who showed to to tell us why he should be in the discussion for the best HipHop Producer coming out of South Korea. On the first two tracks "Your Night" and "Earphone" Sik-K decides to sing. Now, he is not a good singer by any means but with the help of auto tune and the sweet push of BoyCold's beat, Sik-K suddenly sounds like a monotone angel who lost part of their voice but sings a lovely tune. The singing itself isn't bad but its nothing to marvel over but with the help of BoyCold's production, you start to grove along to the music and you can feel exactly what Sik-K wants you to feel, vulnerable. Once you feel what Sik-K wants you to feel, his lyrics become impactful while BoyCold is there to pick you up and rock you to heaven.

"Get That Money" continues the trend but it doesn't have the synergy or perfection that was shown on the two earlier songs. "Ex" features Cha Cha Malone's singing which gives the album a new feel. With Cha Cha singing we are able to take a break from Sik-K's auto tuned moaning to hear someone actually sing a graceful tune. I loved Cha Cha's voice here, his voices just melts in your ear whenever he opens his mouth. I love the song but Cha Cha made it my favorite on the album. The final song is "h1gher gang" which features pH-1 and Jay Park. I honestly don't care for this song but I can see why other will enjoy it. the track itself is just another braggadocios song with all the singers but the only thing I really care for is the beat. Like I said, BoyCold came to prove why he should be in the discussion.

Overall I enjoyed the album. I think its better than "FLIP" but its under "H.A.L.F." which came out 3 months ago. Sik-K came the same as he always is with a colorful cast of singers while BoyCold came with the stars on his back. I'll be putting this album into my playlists like other Sik-K songs. I rate this album a 3.5/5
