neonblue - Henny and Jaime Album Review

MKIT RAIN artists Niahn and Bloo link up for an 8 track EP titled “Henny and Jamie”.  The album was completely produced by HDBI. This album has way too much mumbling and auto tune for my liking but that's not totally a bad thing.  Bloo and Niahn are able to find a cool mix of nice beats, okay vocal performance and lyrics.  Going into this EP you shouldn't take anything too serious as the point is a couple of tracks garnered for the car riding times as well as slightly chill turn ups.

The only song I don't like is Niahn's solo song "Youyah". His lackluster, mumbled, autotuned singing is just too much on its own. Bloo rapping helps drown out this on other songs but here it's way too unbearably.  Have you ever made a cheese omelette that came out good but you put too much cheese?  It tastes good but the  extra cheese is a little annoying? That's this song. HDBI kills with all the keys and jingles (the omelette) but Niahn's singing (cheese) is so annoying here.

Overall I enjoy the album a lot. I can put this on at night to vibe out or play it in the car as I cruise. The production here is A1 and while Bloo pulled his weight, Niahn didn't and it stuck out a lot. I'll be listening to this a lot regardless so it might not be that much of a problem.  I rate this album a 3/5.
