Throughout Anime history, every series seems to have their inseparable duo whether they be rivals, best friends or boss and his right hand man. Regardless this usually makes the series a ton of fun as the two charters push each otter to new heights and feats. I've compiled a list of some of the most Iconic Duos below.
Goku/Vegeta
Son Goku and Vegeta are the most Iconic Duo to ever grace not only Anime but all forms of Fiction. We see the Duo going from sworn enemies to rivals and eventually best friends. At this point in time they don't even train separately and whenever things get rough they consult each other on what to do next. Vegeta at heart may be rough around the edges but he comes when everyone and Goku needs him. Its fun to see them interact as they'd literally fight over anything including food eating contest but at the end of the day its all in the spirit of fun. Also who wouldn't want to grow a sweet beard with our best bud?
Yusuke/Kuwabara
How could Yusuke and Kuwabara not be on the list? These two continuously push each other to new heights even when Yusuke is clearly above Kuwawbara. No matter how much these guys fought, they still had each other's best interest in mind. They went from utterly hating each other to best friends. Kuwabara was always there when Yusuke needed a fresh ass whooping to get his head straight. Kuwabara even sacrificed himself so Yusuke could defeat Toguro and grow stronger. There is nothing these two won't do for each other.
Vash The Stampede/Wolfwood
This is a somewhat underrated Duo as the anime never captured how loyal these two were to each other. These two would go to hell and back for each other with no questions asked. No matter how much baggage Vash was carrying and the people he would attract, Woldwood would be there fighting by his side, dropping bodies with ease. When Wolfwood was going through his troubles Vash didn't necessarily know the situation but he stuck by him, nearly getting himself killed to help protect his friend. Also they dropped tons of organizations and factions together. Long story short, you don;t want to be on the opposite end of their guns even though Vash was a pacifist, Wolfwood may not kill you but he'll beat your ass.
Gon/Killua
This is everyone's favorite duo as well as pairing. People ship these two as a couple and even though I don't see them as one, I can understand it but just like Vash and Wolfwod, these two would burn the world down for each other. After meeting in the Hunter Exam and creating a fun bond because they were the only two their age, they quickly hit it off becoming best friends. When Gon went into a coma he risked fighting all of his family and Hisoka to help heal Gon. Gon even pulled up to Killua's family home and risked his life trying to convince his dad to let Killua leave with him. On top of that they spend almost everyday together training and having fun. Now that I think about it, they might as well be a couple.
Luffy/Zoro
This may be my favorite duo on the list as it goes a bit deeper than best friends. Luffy being the Captain of the Strawhat Pirates and Zoro being his Right Hand Man. Zoro is the definition of ride or die. He will follow Luffy to the ends of the earth if Luffy said that's the route. Zoro's loyalty to Luffy is that of a man and his dog. Zoro even took all of the pain Luffy had accumulated over the past 24 hours in order to save him and the crew from being arrested. Zoro stood from dusk till dawn as a bloody pulp but he never fell. He ate that shit and kept it moving. In return Luffy is a great friend who would do the same. He even started a war with the Government to save Robin. These two would do anything for each other and the rest of the crew.
Gin/Katsura
Gin and Katsura have been friends since they were young studying under Shouyo as students. Gin Katsura, Takasugi and Sakamoto are all childhood friends but the bond that Gin and Katsura share is an odd one. They act as if they hate each other where any chance they get to roast and fight one another they do. And they do it hard. But when one is in trouble the other the other is there in a flash. They've put their lives on the line for each other. But even while doing that' they'll still be roasting each other.
Oga/Beelzebub/Furuichi
After taking in Beelzebub and gaining power from him, Oga and Beel became more than just the child of the Demon King and some loser teen who fights all the time. They became father and son. Seeing one without the other was utterly weird as hell. But another great duo is Oga and his best friend Furuichi. Oga has always been a trouble maker getting into fights with anyone since he was young and even so Furuichi would never run away even though he was a weakling and didn't like violence. When Oga got his powers and Demons and other humans who have powers started coming after Oga, Furuichi would never run away. He would always be by Oga's side, ass whooping or not. They were true friends through and through.
