I Got The Urge To Splurge on Manga

A while ago I said I was sick and tired of the bullshit that has come with anime. This year we got some really good series but I just don't have the attention span to watch an anime if I can tell its not going anywhere. Long story short, I'm burnt out. Most new anime these days is either bad or gets bad halfway through. But lately, lately I've had the urge to read a ton of manga as if its my life mission.

I'm 20 years old. I've legit been watching Anime and reading Manga my entire life. From the age of 10 to 16 it was my goal to read and watch everything and for a while I was doing that. I was consuming everything from new shows to old, long running to short and the in between. One summer I made a viewing schedule and watched certain anime on each day of the week for 3 months straight. It was fun. I took my entire Spring break once to binge watch 235 episodes of One Piece. It was beautiful. I once caught up to Toriko and Beelzebub in one week. That was 400 chapters I read. Basically, this shit was my job.

But after all that, binging and loss of sleep eventually took its tool on me. When I turned 18 I eventually stopped caring about anime and was barely reading the series I had been for years. I just wasn't feeling it. I felt that I had watched and read all of the top tier series. What else as there for me? But lately I've been struck by a bug. I've had the urge to not only read manga every day but to marathon it all night again. I'm reopening my conquest of manga. I finally finished Katekyo Hitman Reborn's manga after watching the anime so long ago. I'm just about to finish with The Breaker New Waves and soon I'll be staring JoJo's Bizarre Adventure while probably finishing season 3 of Kuroko no Basket.

I want to get back into it heavily and read until I go blind.  I've accepted that there are going to be some anime here and there that are cool but manga only is sort of the wave now. I'm trying to read more Seinen and Romance series so lob some into the comment section or on my twitter. My love for manga has been restored and I hope it doesn't fade away anytime soon. So unit then, I'll be splurging all over my copies and computer screen.
