Why Watch Ikkki Tousen

Ikki Tousen is a bodacious battle action anime about rivaling high schools fighting to become the number 1 school in martial arts. Each school has their top fighters and some are the reincarnation of or better yet carry an earring like item called the Magatama which houses the spirit and power of the former Kings and Generals from the Three Kingdoms Era of Chinese history.  The plot of Ikki Tousen is fairly simple but there is more to it. For instance, they may be high school students but some of these characters die or are permanently injured. Relationships go deeper than just crushes, some forming alliances with other schools or being in serious relationships. Not only can the Magatam house the spirit and power of the former Kings but some characters may suffer the same fate as them.

The characters are either extremely likable or extremely despicable. Some characters you become so attached to that you want them to live beyond their pending curse and others you want to die a gruesome death. The animation is good with a cool OST. The fights themselves are always good and entertaining. Ikki Tousen sounds like a great series but there is a downfall. The lore of the series is that most of the characters are big breasted women who are nude 70% of the time. When I was younger and watched this series I loved it but now that I'm 20, its kind of an eyesore. I don't really like series like this but Ikki Tousen kept my eye because of the fights and the story. It also had some cool openings and endings.

I understand why people don't like and take the series serious. But Ikki Tousen has proven to be an anime to not take seriously. My favorite aspect of the series is that I don't have to keep up with an intricate plot and and drama that is brings. There's always a fight happening and hey, some times big anime breast aren't that bad (they are). Ikkit Tousen is a great series to watch in between shows like One Piece and Boku No Hero Academia. A series not to be taken seriously but to enjoy.
