The Dawnguard have sent us to capture Auriel's Bow. It's rumored to be able to blot out the sun with darkness or burn people with the power of the sun. Along the way we learn Auriel was supposed to protect the world from vampires but failed the Snow Elves who worshiped him most. We learn that the Dwemer weren't the only cause of the Snow Elves transformation into Falmer and we get the bow of course.
