Clockwork Planet Episode 1 Review: Turn Back

A Black Box falls from the sky into some losers house as he beats his meat to a magazine about clocks. 1,000 years ago the world was destroyed. An entity known as Y said he could fix the planet, and he did, He reconstructed Earth out of Gears.

In present time when the Black Box falls into the hands of our loser, who is also our hero, he opens it to find an Android, made of gears. As he tries to fix her even though he can barely fix a clock, we get to see what exactly is inside of this Android. After screwing in one screw the rest of his house collapses and the Android wakes from her slumber to save him. Yes, its going to be one of those anime.

We get to know Naoto, our hero, and Ryuzu, the Android a little better but nothing to pinpoint how they actually our. Naoto want to work on clocks while Ryuzu was created to serve. There are other characters in the series such as Meister Maries who is a Scientist and her body guard Halter. Marie is a loli so that's one strike for this series. Naoto is clearly a young boy yet the Android Ryuzu keeps trying to have sex with him. In one scene she sucks on his finger with enough slob that made me uncomfortable. That's another two strikes for this series.

The story is pretty cool. The concept is unique and if done well could be a good series but based on the actions of the characters so far, I highly doubt that. The animation is nice as well which means the fight scenes should be great but it looks like the prime villains will be machines, but not Mechas, just robots. I don't think I'll be continuing this anime but I will check out episode 2 for the confirmation. I'm a bit sad as I was actually looking forward to this based off the summary and the poster for it. Another good series possibly ruined by lame troupes.
