Top 10 Songs: Month of August + Throwback Edition 2016

This month is special as I've introduced the Throwback Edition. There were a couple of songs that I could not stop listening to this month that were old so I decided to create a part of the list as Throwbacks. I won't do this often. Now for the new joints.

Gray - Summer Night Remix
During the AOMG America Concert earlier this year, Gray performed the Summer Night Remix but Hoody wasn't there. I've been waiting since April for this and it finally dropped. I love this song a lot. It's very addictive just the the original but with Hoody vocals and an even groovier feel to it. The summer jam is still a summer jam but it feels different. I find myself dancing more to this version than the OG. Let Me See Yo Body Rock.

C Jamm and Bewhy - Puzzle
I love this beat a lot because it has the new Bewhy flavor that we saw on SMTM but with a C Jamm verse yet it doesn't seem out of place at all. Being used ti hearing these guys on darker and grittier beats, when they create songs with an upbeat flavor it is very refreshing and more fun as it isn't serious. I enjoy both verses from the guys but the chorus really takes the cake. It's very addictive and when the volume is high, my god is it beautiful.

Sanchez - Claustrophobia
I was expecting something different from Sanchez as this song would be rap heavy compared to everything he released last year. I was not disappointed though. His rapping was on point and the mix of singing he did was great as well. KillaGramz' verse was really good as well. I like the fact that his verse wasn't a short verse just because the two are friends. Both men delivered solid and emotional filled verses with a very catchy beat behind it. I feel in love with the verse from the first listen.

Suran - Paradise Go
If Suran releases a song then its definitely going in my Top 10 for the month. Her songs are very addictive and fun. Suran gave a nice ass summer joint. My favorite thing about this song is that it doesn't stray away from what we've grown to know from Suran but its going in a different direction. I enjoy the beat as it reminds me of Summer Night Remix but of course has it's own style. Suran's lovely voice was on point and the song is just amazing.

MKIT RAIN - Weatherman
What do I really have to say about this song besides that its fucking amazing. This was the Summer Banger I was looking for. The beat is heavy but not annoying and it reminds me a little of Come Thru released by them earlier this year. I enjoy all the verses but Loopy's verse was a bit lacking. I was expecting a more energy based verse and wasn't a big fan of the short monotone verse. The beat makes up for this tho. I have to say that my favorite verse is Nafla's but I don't know why. The music video was amazing and funny. Beside this song being loud as hell, there's not much to say. As Loopy said "You gone love this shit".

Penomeco - For You
I was excited for this song because his previous track Ma Fam was my jam earlier this year. This time he came back with Punchnello and Crush for a very upbeat and cool song about putting in work on their music for their partners. "I promise this for you". The beat feels very melodic and reminds me of water running. I don't know what that means but it feels good. The beat switch for Crush was crazy and he really delivered on his verse. I enjoyed all aspects of this song. Another great summer banger and another banger for Penomeco.

Tymee - 2 Bitches and Haters
When I saw Innovator and San E on the track I knew it was going to be bussin. The point of the song is shouting out your haters and giving love to the bitches. I knew San E and Innovator were going to be dissing someone so I need to find the lyrics asap. I think everyone went hard regardless, Niiwha's vocals on the chorus were good and the beat gave off a sinister feel to it which was great for the theme. This is my favorite song from Tymee's new EP Symbol.

ELO - Tattoo
I honestly wanted to but the entire 8 Femmes album on here but I couldn't do that. But I finally got it. I finally got my song with a Cha Cha R&B beat with Jay and ELO on vocals. These 3 mesh very well together and the chorus is very melodic. It think this sing has the best chorus to it and that's why I chose it above the other songs. The way they sing Tattoo is just amazing. Damn near turns me on. This entire album is full of sexy moments so check it out.

The Quiett - Mission
I wasn't looking forward to Mission because Still Got Luvin was released a week before and it wasn't that good even though I liked Kenny Raw's verse. Mission is Pre 2011 and Post 2011 Quiett fusing together. Basically what I mean is that it has the feel of Q Train 2 with verses of 11:11on top of it. This is a great mix as the beat is really beating my ass and the lyrics are still sincere. If I could have an album like this again from The Q and Dok2, that would be amazing. Seriously though both men delivered here and the beat is addicting.

Now here are the Throwbacks

Laboum - What About You
Every now and then I come back to this song because I think its the best song they've made. Not only is it mature but it fully showcases their vocal ability. On top of that it just pulls at my heart. I wish that they would make more songs like this because everyone wants it. I love Shooting Love but I wish it were more like this. When you listen to "What About You" you have to listen to it multiple times and that's how it made it on to this list.

Nonpoint - Bullet With A Name
Nonpoint released a new Album this year so I decided to go back to this gem. Of course when I listened to it I would go into a frenzy and listen to it multiple times before finally stopping. This song goes hard as fuck. It reminds me of 2007 because of the year as well as the Wrestling because Wrestling that year was great. There is so much nostalgia carried with this song.

Tyler The Creator - Brewin Bitches
In his early career, Tyler was extremely trifling. This is a manifestation of his desires and I love it. Ashamed to say it but its really good. The beat gets you wrapped in the song and the rhyming is simple but it works. This song is geared towards making you press the repeat button. I'll just have to let the song speak for itself because I won't speak for it.

Chlldish Gambino - Worldstar
This song reminds me of when Worldstar was taking over the world. Not only that but the beat is fucking sick. The metaphors and rhyming were essential. The background vocals for "Worldstar" towards the end are melodic and a very good touch. Long story short, this is my shit.

Frank Ocean - Thinking About You
I don't care much for Blond. It's an okay album with a few good songs and a few good lyrics but as a whole it was meh. Thinking About You on the other hand is an amazing song and its probably Frank's best song to ever be released. This song is addictive, melodic, sensual, sincere and ever emotion you can think of. When you listen to this song you have to keep doing it until your ears bleed.
