Top 10 Songs: Month of April 2016

Basick - The Empty House
This song came out earlier this year and I did love it but I didn't become attached to it then. I've gone back and listened to Basick's discography and this song has become a favorite. Basick's signature flow is always mesmerizing as he hooks you into the song, and his charisma is always off the way. He truly brings his feelings into every song. The reason why I love this song so much is because of the lyrics. He's explaining why he has these feelings towards her while telling the story of their demise all while being personal. He isn't scared to say he's thinking about her all day while still calling her a bitch. You can tell he's broken. Such an amazing song that I've become addicted to.

Nafla - Dopeboy
Just like he says in the lyrics, Dopeboy is a club banger. It's a catchy song with decent lyrics enough to keep you entertained but not take too seriously. I like the lyrics "strippers got that platinum booty/that fat booty's nice" because its just funny. The beat is good as well. Its a banger but not too much is going on. This song came out when not enough Hip Hop bangers are being released. I listen to this on my way to my classes and I feel good when I get there.

Jun Hyosung - So Good/Find Me
The entire COLORED album is great meaning it was hard trying to narrow it down to  just 2 songs. So Good is a nice R&B number to unwind to especially coming after I Got U and Find Me. The song makes me feel so good and relaxes me. Find Me on the other hand is definitely my favorite song from the album which is weird because lead singles are rarely my favorites on the album. Find Me does a great job on the lyrics giving us a serious tone while the beat matches that but at the same time being a dance track. Everything just meshes well together creating a great meaningful and enjoyable song. Don't sleep on Dear Moon because that guitar and the singing are great.

Oh My Girl - Knock Knock
The first time I heard the song I was hooked because of the beat. The beat is so good at grabbing you and keeping you in its hold as the girls sing with their lovely voices. I thought the song was about a guy cheating and telling all girls to not be fooled buy men's ploys but no. Its about a new girl stealing your bestfriend. Not even disappointed because I can relate to it and I like the lyrics a lot. The selling point of this song has to be the beat though. It's super catchy. The entire Pink Ocean EP is good though.

Loco - You Too
Loco surprised us by putting Cha Cha Malone on the song as a singer and not as a producer. Woogie Park who produced Jay Park's The Truth Is, produced this number. The fusion of the beat, Loco's mellow tone rapping and Cha Cha's soft singing really makes you croon. Even though the song is about never giving up and is slow paced, I found myself  constantly listening to it throughout the day. Thank you guys for creating a great song.

Laboum - Imagine More
I've talked about this song on my review here. The song is very catchy and uplifting but what I love so much about it are the lyrics. It reads like a poem with very broad and descriptive words that make this something to read each time I hear the song. The vocals were on point and the song embodies Spring without having to change up the girl's style to something new.

TK - One More Night
If you did not know, TK is a producer under VMC a underground Hip Hop label. He is releasing his debut producer album Tourist in May 2. I'm telling you all this because this album is going to be good. His previous single Feel Alright was great but this one is an R&B track that TK also sings on. the song is about an impending break up and he just wants to spend one more night with her. His voice is lovely and the beat is very addictive. If TK was more popular with the general public I could see tons of dance practice videos for this song.

Block B - Toy/Bingle Bingle
There is a flaw in Block B's new album? No. It is godly. All of the songs have their own style while still being in the same realm of what is Block B. Toy is a great songs because everyone gets equal parts and the rapping and the singing is A1. One of Block B's best songs yet. Bingle Bingle is Bastarz without P.O but that's okay because this song is really good. It was made by Dean so it has that new R&B and Hip Hop style that B Bomb and U Kwon are able to adapt and make theirs. The song doesn't have a climax but it is really good to party to.

Nightmare - Awakening
This is the best single that Nightmare has released in a while and I am not joking. It has been a minute since I could sit and listen to a song from them multiple times in a row. Awakening really woke them up and puts them back on their former glory. The instrumental is really captivating as the singing just matches everything. The background singing is on point as well. The guitar rifts in this song are on point. Long story short, Nightmare are killing with this song and the other two songs on the single are enjoyable as well. Welcome back.

Sleepy - Body Lotion
I love everything about this song. I did not know Sleepy could sing because I don't listen to Untouchable, yet. His singing and Bang Yongguk's rapping with a crazy beat from Giriboy is a match made in heaven. I love Bang's rapping. His voice is so sexy and gave me tingles. Giriboy really experimented with this eat and I love it. Its different from what we usually get and its so beautiful. The music video did a great job matching the beat break. Anyway, this song is just purely amazing.

As I write this Twice, April, Thelma Aoyma and Nicole have not released their albums so next month we should see songs from them on here plus maybe BTS, Crush and more TK.
