Top 5 Namie Amuro Albums

It is about time that I came up with a list consisting of my favorite Namie Amuro Albums. The time is now. In light of the news of her 11th album _genic, I have composed my list in preparations for this release. Here are my top 5 albums and I hope that you are able to get into Ms. Amuro or if you're a fan, make your own list.

#5: FEEL (2013)
Namie Amuro's 10th album feel is a very unique album. In 2012 Namie Amuros started to make songs in English. That album was Uncontrolled. Ms. Amuro continued to make English songs but they are much better in FEEL. The album is half English and half Japanese like Uncontrolled but it is better constructed. I love this album because it has a very fresh feel to it. No pun intended. The switch from R&B to Pop was a rough switch and it is good but it still isn't as great as her R&B. FEEL is the third Pop album she has made and she finally, in my opinion, found her sound with pop on this album. Its not generic or something thrown together. It has a very cohesive sound and the album flows perfectly from start to finish. This is an album you can listen to for years and never get tired of it. My favorite songs are La La La, Rainbow, and Stardust In My Eyes.

#4: Past < Future (2009)
Past < Future was the full switch album from R&B to Pop. It had a very surprising sound to it, but I was able to enjoy it. The first time I listened to it I didn't enjoy it much. I was able to love it with time. The songs are pop based but Namie still has her signature feel throughout the album. She is able to transition well to the new genre with ease. This album is filled with songs that you will be able to enjoy for years. This is probably the most upbeat album she has and this is why I love it. My favorite songs are My Love, Fast Car, and First Timer.

#3: Play (2007)
Play is a great album. It starts out pretty upbeat and then transitions into a more moody album before ending off on a high note. It truly is a great R&B album. You can feel the love and hard work that was put into the album. Play is one of my favorites because it is the definition of good R&B. It's not too moody nor too upbeat. It has the perfect blend of both and storytelling. This album is one that you can't speak for. You will have to listen to it to get the full effect. My favorite songs are Can't Sleep, Can't Eat, I'm Sick, Step With It, and Baby Don't Cry.

#2: Style (2003)
The first album I ever heard from Ms. Amuro was style. It was the year of 2010 and it was the same time I was getting into Japanese music. I was surprised at how a Japanese artist could sound so beautiful and soulful on an R&B album. This is where my love grew. It may not be one of her best albums but it is one of my favorites. I was able to establish a love for Japanese music and Ms Amuro herself. This a mellow album with hip hop aspects to it as well such as songs Fish, So Good, and Put Em Up. It is a great place to start if you want to listen to more Japanese R&B and Hip Hop.  My favorite songs are Come, Fish, and Lovebite.

#1: Genius 2000 (2000)
This is downright my favorite album by the goddess Namie Amuro. I fell in love with this album because it speaks to my laid back soul. All of the tracks are about love and loss but in different stories. I think the only song that isn't about love is Leavin for Las Vegas which is about having no money but still wanting to have fun. I was able to find my soul (lame but true) in this album. The chill and emotional feel on this album is extraordinary. It goes down as one of my favorite albums period. I highly recommend his album to all fans of good R&B. I promise that this will enlighten your soul. My favorite songs are Still In Love, Things I Collected, and Kiss N Ride.

This has been my list of favorite Namie AMuro Albums. These albums are my life. They helped shape who I am today. I am glad that I am able to have listened to such a goddess. I can not wait to listen to her new ably which will have a more R&B feel to it unlike her last 3 albums. Tell me what you think about this list and how you feel about Japanese music in general. Now I'm off to listen to more of her and create a playlist of her best songs.
