Sword Art Online Season 2 Review Mother’s Rosario Part 1

I made these Sword Art Online (AKA SAO) season 2 reviews out of order. I might review the other arcs covered in season 2 of SAO, just give me some time. Watch season one or read the light novels if you haven’t already. Enjoy the review.

So this side story (could be considered an arc as well) is an Asuna focused story that is pretty good (you’ll still see Kirito and his squad in this arc as well). I’m just saying this now, this arc is really sad and depressing but at the same time you’ll get the feeling of being content. This arc is like somewhat like Clannad After Story as in terms of how sad and depressing an anime can be when death is involved. But to get on a more upbeat note, let’s jump right into the review.

Asuna fought a player that converted from another game and this player’s name is Yuuki. Yuuki was challenging anyone just for the fun of it (that is what I thought at the time) and if a player could beat her in a duel they would receive a special 11-hit original sword skill (going to talk about the sword skill later on in this article). Asuna would go on to fight Yuuki in an intense duel in which Asuna still lost but gained Yuuki’s respect. Yuuki in return would ask Asuna for help, so Yuuki had a hidden motive for battling people. Yuuki then explained why she needed Asuna’s help.

Yuuki is the leader of a small guild called the Sleeping Knights. The Sleeping Knights needed an extra player (that was as strong as them) in their party to help them defeat the floor boss. The Sleeping Knights wanted to do this because if they defeated the floor boss they would have their names carved into the monument of swordsmen. By doing this, the guild would be creating a special moment that none of them would forget because the guild was going to disband. Now the deeper reason behind why their guild was going to disband is what made this arc very sad.
