American Sniper - Good Intentions and a Poor Execution

On January 26th episode of The Nightly Show Larry and his guest took a look at the controversial film American Sniper. The film follows a sniper through a tour of duty in the middle east and has gained a lot of interest. Some good and some bad. Some people praise the film for looking at the issues that veterans face when returning home from PTSD. Others have criticized it for the inaccurate portrayal of Iraqis and the glorification of bloody war. Also Michael Bay is complaining like normal. Larry and his guest were able to look at it from many angles.

The film does do a good job of portraying the effects of war and PTSD on soldiers returning home. However it is racially insensitive and displays all Iraqis as bad people. However one of Larry's guest pointed out that during his 5 tours of duty majority of the people were nice. One thing that the guest did all agree on was the the film is bad. It's got bad acting, bad love interest and a unnecessarily convoluted story.
