HHH: Building Not Burrying

HHH the cerebral assassin has gained a reputation through the wrestling business as a man known for burying other talents in order to put himself over. HHH is also in charge of NXT which most people should know. However, he still has his reputation of burials. That can't be further from the truth now. He's currently revolutionizing NXT in multiple ways, yet not everyone is willing to give him the credit he deserves for this.

NXT has replaced previous WWE development farms like FCW and OVW. The world has been lead to believe this was a HHH call. If so, HHH deserves a lot of credit. With in house training WWE has been able to push a crop of home trained superstars that are able to work the WWE style that can be comparable to WWE veterans. Let's look at the divas for an example. I'm not talking about the standouts like AJ Lee and Paige. Let's look at Alicia Fox. She picked up a championship reign but she was horrible in the ring. We all knew it. When she started in WWE, the NXT option wasn't available. Eventually she goes down to NXT and believe it or not, she's improved.

The male superstars coming from NXT have also improved greatly, but that isn't due to in house training. HHH has embraced the independent wrestling scene as well as the international scene. He's brought in Kenta from Japan, Pac from Europe, Sin Cara from Mexico (We're talking Hunicara here, the good Sin Cara). He's brought in well known indy guys like Prince Devitt, Kevin Steen, and El Generico. HHH is also frequently bringing in guys like Adam Cole for tryouts. (He missed the boat on the Wolves).

HHH also has a team writing the stories. While there is a team of writers for the main show they basically just say yes to Vince McMahon. Within the last few weeks HHH has also taken control of SmackDown so we'll see if improvements continue there. Since NXT isn't run by one man with an iron fist the ideas are more diverse and lead to gimmicks that the crowd is able to get behind. I'm a Tyson Kidd fan. Always have been. He would never get over on the main shows as a spotless face who was married to Natalya. While Alecia Fox was able to improve her in ring skill Tyson was able to improve his promos and character.

While HHH isn't the only person behind these improvements he's leading the charge. It's unfair to keep blaming him for burials he has nothing to do with. HHH did not bury Zack Ryder. Vince went to the shed and got the shovel, then he made Zack dig the grave. Then Vince pushed Zack in and covered it. HHH isn't burying anyone. He's building the future.
